Singing you a Happy Birthday!

What fun I had making my weekly card as a guest design team member at The Digi Bells DT Blog for Elisabeth Bell. Today I chose this darling little digital image from Elisabeth Bell "Li'l Lynda's Piano Forte"
I really tend to shy away from the darker copic colors, so was delighted with the outcome of the "blacks" with a bit of help from Suzanne Dean's copic coloring tutorials on YouTube - Thank you, Suzanne!
I used new and old supplies and some yummy flourish corners my sweet friend, KathyCan and sometimes does, sent me - Thank you, Kathy! The DP papers are from Echo park "victoria garden" and We R Memory Keepers "cotton tail" collections, which I picked up at Oozak. I met up with a bestie of mine for a bit of shopping at the LSS and dinner afterwards - what a treat it was to spend time with Beth. At the LSS I found the little black corner faceted rhinestone flat pearls - they are so pretty and unfortunately the camera just can't pick up the "bling".
I followed the sketch by Dawny P over at Papertake Weekly Challenge blog and knew I wanted to challenge myself into a gatefold with the sketch - took a bit of thinking, but it worked out just fine.
I used my classic circle Spellbinder nestie and ran the sentiment from TlcCreations/Create with TLC via Free Digital Stamps along with the pink dot DP through my Sizzix "music" (Tim Holtz) embossing folder with the cuttlebug and very much enjoyed the results. I also cut the the inside message mat with my Tim Holtz die.
The ribbon rolled roses are from Papermart and the silk flowers and ribbon from my LCS (purchased a year or so ago). When searching through my cards the other day for a friend's birthday, I noted I was quite low on ready-to-give birthday cards, hence, why I stepped out of Mr. McGregor's garden for just a little bit to make this birthday card.
Well, back to the "garden and bunnies"!
Have a wonderful first week of April, My Friends!
Love,
Wendy

Just Ducky!

Okay, Friends... I must say I have pulled an all-nighter - haven't done that in a looooong time, but I was having sooooo much fun, i just couldn't stop! Sweet hubby came downstairs and said "Didn't I leave you in that same spot 7 hours ago?" - YUP, yes siree-bubby, you sure did! :) :) :) He promptly made a "full" pot of double-strength coffee - yes, he's a keeper, that's for sure!
Okay on to the deets of this card - but I must preface it by saying, I made three of these - hence the all-nighter, and still have two more to go (for the five children/families) for Spring/Easter. The darling image is from Sassy Cheryl "Duck Dance" and can be found in her $2 bargain bin - I purchased it a few months ago in anticipation of Spring/Easter cards :)
I also used Gerda's images from Stamp Fairy for the carrots and eggs. The sentiment is a freebie from Create with TLC/tlcCreations via Free Digital Stamps and thought it was absolutely perfect for this card - "Hope your day is just Ducky"!
My sweet friend punched a bunch of MS fences for me, and this card just screamed "use the fence" - LOL - Thank you my sweet friend, KathyCan! While Skype-scrapping with Kathy, we started going through our stash and I found the metal ribbon/bow charm - I know I've had it for over 10 years!
I did have to travel outside to the "scrap-shed" - yes... I have a 10x20 tough shed full of scrap supplies :/ We will be having a HUGE garage sale next month, as everything we have must go - so we can hit the RV retirement road - we are so excited! Anyway, back on track - the card is a center step card - love this fold and followed the tutorial on You Tube by Frances Byrne - great tutorial! Cut the image with my Spellbinder nestie classic circles and then matted it with the Lacey circle - of course, with my Cuttlebug.
"Hope your day is just Ducky"
Love,
Wendy

Treasure the Moment!

Today is a new challenge for March/April at Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge Blog with the theme of Shabby Chic/Distressing. For my card I chose to use Elisabeth's new digi Li'l Lilian along with Little Best Friends as the tiny image being painted by Li'l Lilian.
This was way fun to create! I used my Martha Stewart corner and border punches, along with Prima DP. I did a lot of ink distressing with Tim Holtz distress ink-burlap to all the layers on this easel card. Also did up some fun chiffon fabric flowers and used some Prima paper flowers to add more texture, oh and a string of pearls and a feather.
The buttons are from a package I picked up at the LCS, along with the pearls for the stick pin. Added some tulle for more texture and some hemming ribbon. I followed the sketch over at
Found a stashed stamp "Treasure the Moment" and took a leap of faith (literally) and stamped right onto my card - whew - thank goodness I got it in the right position, didn't rock it, etc.
Also used Spellbinders die in my Cuttlebug and this time made SURE the image would fit before I printed and colored it - so unlike me - LOL.
Be sure to go over to Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge Blog and check out the wonderful work my teamies did, and don't forget to use an image/stamp of Elisabeth's and enter the challenge!
Have a "Treasure the Moment" week!
Love,
Wendy

Let it Snow!

Today is my day to showcase one of Elisabeth Bell's Digital Stamps as a guest design team member at The Digi Bells DT blog - I am having such a wonderful time being one of their GDTs! I know it's nearly spring, but I love this digi so much I needed to do my first Christmas card of 2012, showcasing Elisabeth's "Frosty the Snowman" digi stamp.
I used Bo Bunny "smoochable" collection, as I was feeling rather springy ;) Also used my Cuttlebug to cut the Sizzix "BasicGrey" snowflakes and to emboss the DP with my snowflake folder and swiss dot folder for the bazzil snowflakes and small dots for the foundation mat.
The little snowflakes are from a Martha Stewart punch, along with her icicle border punch. The large ric-rac grosgrain and purple grosgrain are from my LSS. The metal embellies I've had for about 10 years - hoarding, of course - LOL. The sentiment is from Scribbles by Sandy via Free Digital Stamps and of course all colored up with my copics.
I followed the sketch over at Sketch Saturday
Even dolled up the inside a bit with the DP and snowflakes.
Have a lovely first week of spring!
love,
Wendy

Lynda

From here you'll want to head on over to our lovely Renkata's Blog

I had so much fun coming up with the sentiment to go with this wonderful digi image "Toothfully you are Fairy Spectacular :) This card is for my girlfriend's upcoming birthday, and she'll get a kick out of it!
It's really a trifold card, with mountain and valley folds, the last fold to the back of the card to create the pocket for the tag, which is also a gift card holder :)
I used my new Prima paper stack "Meadow Lark" from Oozak, along with some flourishes that my sweet friend KathyCan sent me and of course flowers (that is our theme, remember:), and followed the sketch over at Sketch Saturday (again).

I Love You Beary Much!

Today is my day to showcase one of Elisabeth Bell's digi stamps over at The Digi Bells DT where I am honored to be a guest design team member. For this card I chose Pati's Kisses - isn't she just toooooo sweeeet?!? She was beary fun to color, too.
I was inspired to color her up in copic Rs, Es and Ws with a monochromatic "peachy" feel. I love that color its so warm and soft. I also used some of my most favorite ribbon from my hoarded stash (I am in a panic, however, as I only have one yard left and don't remember where I got it :/).
And wanted her hair to have a "platinum" look. I even pulled out my chalks again and chalked every edge of this card. I also decided that I only wanted diecuts/ribbon/lace as my embellies - even though I had a whole slew of "peachy" stuffy on my work surface - keeping it a bit more simple made me happy :)
The DP paper was purchased from Oozak, Prima songbird collection and Dovecraft Princess Fairytale. Used my Cuttlebug to cut all the hearts, swirls and ovals.
Even finished up the inside with more coordinating DP. I followed the sketch over at Sketch Saturday. This one goes out to a special dear girlfriend!
Thanks for stopping by for a visit!
Have a Beary Special Week.

Sunny Side of the Street

"Grab your coat and get your hat, leave your worries on the doorstep... Just Direct Your Feet, to the
Sunny Side of the Street..."
Those lyrics were the inspiration for my project today, along with Mo's challenge of trying something new. The new for me is a center step card. I found the tutorial on You Tube by Frances Byrne for SplitCoast Stampers. The tutorial is fab and she is very easy to follow. I didn't know what I was missing, not trying one of these folds before - it was so fun! This is my CAS card, pretty much as clean and simple as I can do - LOL. I found, in my opinion, what is the perfect pink in copics over at Oozak, R81/83/85 - finally, perfect shades of pink for me :) I also added one more warm gray to my collection, W6, and am really pleased with the results of these new colors. The DP is also from Oozak, Dovecraft, Princess Fairytale by Katie Pertiet. The image is a newbie over at Mo's Digital Pencil too, "Singin in the rain". The star scallop border and cloud dies are from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I used my cuttlebug to cut with my spellbinder circle nesties and used the die as a stencil to leave a white border around the image (I can't recall where I saw a tutorial about this, sorry :/). Also with the cuttlebug, I embossed the clouds and sentiment mat with the Tim Holtz Sizzix music folder, and embellished with Doodlebug twine and Bazzill buttons.
This one goes out to a BFF since gradeschool :)
Thanks for stopping in today to visit and see my project "Sunny Side of the Street".
Enjoy the rest of your week!
Love,
Wendy

Leibster Blog Award!

Anji at Anji's Antics left me the nicest post, indicating she had something for me on her blog. What a lovely surprise to find that Anji had awarded me with the Liebster Blog Award. Thank you soooo much, My Friend!
"The origins of the Liebster Blog award are somewhat unclear but the general consensus is that it originated in Germany, Liebster meaning favorite or dearest, to showcase bloggers with fewer than 200 followers. Upon accepting the award the recipient must then pass it on to five more blogs of note."
Without further adieu, here's whatcha' do as a presenter of this award!
1.Thank your Liebster Blog Award presenter on your blog.
2.Link back to the blogger who presented the award to you.
3.Copy and paste the blog award on your blog.
4.Present the Liebster Blog Award to 5 blogs of 200 followers or less who you feel deserve.
5.Let them know they have been chosen by leaving a comment at their blog.

Now it's my turn to pay the award forward to five awesome blogs with less than 200 followers. ALL five fabulous bloggers, in no particular order they are:
Jayne's blog "Eskimo Frosting"
Lisette's blog "Cards From My Heart"
Darlene's blog "Scrappy Dues"
Kenzie's blog "Krafty Hugzz"
I hope you all will accept this award and pay it forward to those you admire!
Love to All,
Wendy

Together Anything is Possible

So it all started with this ding-dang-darling image from Sassy Cheryl "Tricycle" in her new $2 bin. She has a super cool deal going on, so be sure to check out the store. I chose My Minds Eye Love Me collection of DPs, picked out my copic colors and began my mostest funnest task of coloring the image -  you know I LOVE TO COLOR!
Then pulled out a bunch of embellies and found the sketch over at Totally Gorjuss and that's where it all started.
Then I got to work!
I found this awesome Martha Stewart punch around the page - I LOVE IT!
Decided to stack my buttons for my main embellishments - gosh I've had these Bazzil buttons for eons! Used my Spellbinder nesability heart circle and classic circles for the sentiment, Sizzix for the image matting, along with cuttlebug folder swiss dots, of course all cut and embossed with my beloved Cuttlebug. This one goes out to a friend whom I love and adore and with her friendship I feel "together anything is possible"!

Thanks for stopping by and have a "Together anything is Possible" week!
love,
Wendy

When Bluebirds Fly

It's time again for my weekly post for my guest design team spot at The Digi Bells DT, showcasing Elisabeth Bell in my creation. Today I chose to use Li'l Janelle's Harvest, waaaay fun to color! I stalked the UPS man today, awaiting the arrival of my new Martha Stewart punch around the page punches and am thrilled with the outcome. The DPs are from My Mind's Eye, lost & found collection. I also used my Spellbinder Nestabilities, lacey circle and classic circle dies in my Cuttlebug. I have to thank Bev Rochester for her awesome video tutorials - I attempted her technique at cloud making - had to use my chalks instead of inks, but they worked and I'm pleased with the outcome and now officially addicted to cloud making :) Used some pearls and bead cups to fashion my stickpin and to embellish the rest of the easel card, along with my fiskars flower punch, a dash of satin edged organza ribbon and sang Somewhere Over The Rainbow while coloring with my coipcs.
I followed the sketch (again) over at Seems A Little Sketchy

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Love,
Wendy
